Donata Fell opened up the Cape Town Branch of Body Mind Studios in February 2010. Donata is an experienced Health Professional, working in the health industry since 1993. She is a registered Therapeutic Massage therapist, Refleoxlogist, Shiatsu practitioner, Indian Head Masseur, Pilates instructor, Martial Artist and Councillor (Unisa degree).

 

She decided to teach Pole Dance because it is actually SO MUCH FUN, yet sets free so many aspects of a woman's mind and emotions about her limitations and body image!

BodyMind Studios are the first and largest Pole Dancing and Sensual Dance Fitness© studio in South Africa. There are 7 studios in South Africa The classes we offer combine strength exercises, fitness and sexy dance moves in a safe, fun and relaxed environment.

We offer a unique formula whereby the pole classes teach you the basics, improve strength, co-ordination and stamina, whilst the fitness classes do the toning and teach the sexy moves. Our passion is for helping women empower themselves through learning to love their bodies.

As classes are for women only, it is a safe, supportive environment, encouraging you to build confidence without being watched. The classes are for women of all ages, shapes and sizes, and, as no one has usually done pole dancing before - no experience is necessary.

Pole 1 (Beginners)

The Pole 1 course is designed to build up strength and learn the basics in pole dance. You will learn to climb and sit on the pole, while building your strength for the more advanced classes.

 

Sensual Fitness Classes Classes 45 min

Sensual Fitness is more fun than the gym! It improves muscle tone, flexibility and posture. If you are looking to learn something completely different then Sensual Fitness incorporating lap dance techniques on and around the chair is for you.Suitable for beginners and all levels of fitness. The classes are structured like an aerobics class, but no pounding, all the moves are slow and sensual, perfect for women wanting something different, yet challenging.

 

Pole 2 (Intermediate)

Our Pole 2 course sees you moving into an exciting area of Pole Dancing, as well as building on your Pole 1 foundation with new and exciting variants of Spins, Transitions etc. this is the first level at which we explore inversions. This exciting area of Pole Dancing is tremendous fun and will really get you hooked. It is taught by one of our highly qualified teachers in a supportive and friendly environment.

 

Pole 3 (Advanced)

You must be able to perform no handed invert tricks and you must have completed min 6 months classes to attend Pole 3. Our Advanced course builds on the stamina and strength that you have developed in the previous courses, you continue to explore the core moves but further develop with holds and more work on inversions, at this stage the routine is significantly more complex allowing you to express those new found skills.

 

Pole Fitness

Where the above classes focus on learning new tricks, the Pole Dance/Fitness class aims to integrate the moves into a dance format. We will not be teaching new tricks in this class, but rather create flowing movements from one into enough. This class is not for Absolute Beginners, as it will take some time to develop coordination in order to keep up with the class.

 

What to wear

_ Comfortable gym clothing: Tracksuit and t-shirt are fine to start.

_ Bring shorts along for the pole classes

_ Shoes are optional
