– Kim Hofmann
This is because, although these are really important points, they
are not the crux to healthy balanced eating. Some important things
to remember are firstly, eating enough (too little will slow down
the metabolism), secondly, eating regularly (every 3-4 hours is
best) and thirdly, having some form or ‘immediate’ energy food
(starch, fruit, dairy) at each meal/snack. When you get into a
healthy eating ROUTINE you will find that your goals are so much
easier to attain!
And remember that you are human – no one expects you to be perfect
100% of the time!
Kim Hofmann
is a Registered Dietician with a Bachelor of Science from Wits
University, an Honours in Psychology from UNISA and her Honours in
Dietetics from UCT. After a year in the community, she began
working in a private practice. She is now practicing in Harfield
Village, Claremont where she attends to clients from all over Cape
Town. She works with a wide range of people, from those seeking to
lose weight to those with special medical needs. She also lectures
nutrition at various institutes, gives talks at and for wellness
days, as well as being Adventure Boot Camp’s advisory dietician.
Kim’s
passion lies in combining her psychological studies with nutrition
and food, often helping disclose the reason behind binging and other
unhealthy habits. With the philosophy that you must look after your
body now, she will help you reach your goals in the healthiest
possible way!
